Convert images between modern and traditional formats
UVs Image Converter is built for more than a basic JPG-to-PNG task. It accepts common web formats and specialist camera or graphics formats, then checks the production server to expose the output formats it can actually create. This avoids showing conversion choices that are not supported by the hosting image engine.
Use Auto-detect for the source format in most cases. Choose the output format, adjust quality when the target format uses lossy compression, enable lossless mode where supported, and keep animation when you are converting compatible animated formats.

How to convert an image
- Choose the source format or leave it on Auto-detect.
- Select the target format from the server-supported output list.
- Add one or more images by clicking the upload area.
- Set quality, lossless or animation options where they apply.
- Convert and download the results individually or as a ZIP when available.
Quality, lossless mode and file size
There is no single setting that is best for every image. Photographs can usually tolerate more lossy compression than screenshots, line art or text-heavy graphics. Lossless output avoids a new lossy encoding step but can produce larger files. Keep your original images as master files and treat converted versions as delivery, compatibility or editing copies.
Privacy and file processing
The full converter uses a hybrid workflow because advanced formats cannot all be handled reliably by browser canvas features. Files sent for server conversion are processed through the dedicated converter endpoint and temporary output files are automatically cleaned up. Simpler browser-side tools on UVs Tool Hub do not upload files at all.

Which image formats are supported?
The source selector supports HEIC, HEIF, JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, AVIF and JP2. Available output formats depend on the image codecs enabled on the production server.
Can I convert several images at once?
Yes. Add multiple images and convert them in one session. ZIP download is available when the server ZipArchive feature is enabled.
Can animated images stay animated?
The Keep animation option is available for formats and server codecs that support animated input and output.
Why can available output formats vary?
The converter detects the formats enabled by ImageMagick or GD on the server, so it does not advertise an output codec the server cannot create.
